SENSE NATURE AND LIFE

Right from the time when "Eze started going 2 school" we've been thought that there are 5 parts in human body which makes us to be aware of wat is happening in our environment namely: eyes, ears, nose, tongue & d skin. These we call the sense organs. But yet, a little child about a year or two don't need anyone to tell (s)he that paracetamol is bitter, neither are they told that there is a difference between hot and cold water, & so this brings about a question: Does school teach us some things we already know? If yes, why then do people fail exams time without number in things dey already know? Well, I av been made to understand that we go to school to learn not just what we already know but what we ought to know. But that aside lets look at the subject of the day, **Sense Organs** and things u shud knw.

The 5 Sense Organs
The head has always been an important part of the body. If not for anything, for housing d brain & also been endowed with the complete 5 sense organs. Have you ever wondered why nature after much consideration gave you; 2 eyes, 2 ears but one mouth? Permit me to say that it is another way of nature telling us to see more, hear more but talk less!!! just remembered my bible says "not what goeth into a man defilleth a man, but that which goeth out."

The eyes If u really want to know the importance of the eyes, walk up to a blind person and ask. The eyes have been our help in other to see things around us. That is a fact we all know, but yet there are few more lessons it wants us to note abt life:
1)The positioning; The eyes are located anteriorly(front) at d top part of the whole body. What does that really mean? The eyes height tells us to note that we shud always see above circumstances. Though your feet may be at the same level with d foundation of a building, yet you still see the top of the building. The fact that you failed a number of times doz nt mean you can't be a success. Hear me: failure is a ladder to success, but be careful not to be heading down the ladder.
2) Forward facing; Here another thing you should note: the eyes are located in such a way that you should only see things ahead of you (except smtyns wen we av to look back). I always do tell my friends to think more about the future than the present. The past is jst dia 4 u to make references. Lets jst play a little game: Turn and look left, then turn and look right. You will find out that you ended up saying *NO*. Wud that mean saying no to the future or what?? Well it may be that you are looking at things behind you. I will tell you, one thing that have kept me going in life is to never mind what people say about me if I totally think i'm on the right track. Just look forward and be focused to your goal and let the ear do the hearing (coz u wud need some of people's word).
3) Angle of sight; From the little research I have made, I was able to see that human eyes can only see 180¡ã out d total 360¡ã (I.e half) . What does that imply: you will always need some1 to watch your back. Dont always think you can stand alone, even as the popular football solo goes "we never walk alone"...

THE CARROT, EGG AND THE COFFEE BEAN

A young woman went to her mother and told her about her life and how things were so hard for her. She did not know how she was going to make it and wanted to give up. She was tired of fighting and struggling. It seemed that, as one problem was solved, a new one arose. Her mother took her to the kitchen. She filled three pots with water and placed each on a high fire. Soon the pots came to a boil.

In the first, she placed carrots, in the second she placed eggs, and in the last she placed ground coffee beans. She let them sit and boil, without saying a word. In about twenty minutes, she turned off the burners. She fished the carrots out and placed them in a bowl. She pulled the eggs out and placed them in a bowl. Then she brought the coffee out and placed it in a bowl. Turning to her daughter, she asked, "Tell me, what do you see?" "Carrots, eggs, and coffee," the young woman replied. The mother brought her closer and asked her to feel the carrots. She did and noted that they were soft. She then asked her to take an egg and break it. After pulling off the shell, she observed the hard- boiled egg. Finally, she asked her to sip the coffee. The daughter smiled as she tasted its rich aroma. The daughter then asked, "What does it mean, mother?" Her mother explained that each of these objects had faced the same adversity - boiling water - but each reacted differently. The carrot went in strong, hard and unrelenting. However, after being subjected to the boiling water, it softened and became weak. The egg had been fragile. Its thin outer shell had protected its liquid interior. But, after sitting through the boiling water, its inside became hardened! The ground coffee beans were unique, however. After they were in the boiling water, they had changed the water. "Which are you?" the mother asked her daughter. "When adversity knocks on your door, how do you respond? Are you a carrot, an egg, or a coffee bean?" Think of this: Which am I? Am I the carrot that seems strong but, with pain and adversity, do I wilt and become soft and lose my strength? Am I the egg that starts with a malleable heart, but changes with the heat? Did I have a fluid spirit but, after a death, a breakup, or a financial hardship, does my shell look the same, but on the inside am I bitter and tough with a stiff spirit and a hardened heart? Or am I like the coffee bean? The bean actually changes the hot water, the very circumstance that brings the pain. When the water gets hot, it releases the fragrance and flavour. If you are like the bean, when things are at their worst, you get better and change the situation around you. When t he hours are the darkest and trials are their greatest, do you elevate to another level? How do you handle adversity? Are you a carrot, an egg, or a coffee bean???

JUMPING THE QUEUE

Today, a true tale of heroism that takes place not in a war zone, nor a hospital, but in Victoria station in London in 2007, during a tube strike. Our hero ? a transport journalist and self-described "big, stocky bloke with a shaven head" named Gareth Edwards, who first wrote about this experience on the community blog metafilter.com ? is standing with other commuters in a long, snaking line for a bus, when a smartly dressed businessman blatantly cuts in line behind him. (Behind him: this detail matters.)

The interloper proves immune to polite remonstration, whereupon Edwards is seized by a magnificent idea. He turns to the elderly woman standing behind the queue- jumper, and asks her if she'd like to go ahead of him. She accepts, so he asks the person behind her, and the next person, and the next ? until 60 or 70 people have moved ahead, Edwards and the seething queue-jumper shuffling further backwards all the time. The bus finally pulls up, and Edwards hears a shout from the front of the line. It's the elderly woman, addressing him: "Young man! Do you want to go in front of me?"

THE LOST NECKLACE
>>>attributed to Sri Ramana Maharshial

Certain woman possessed a necklace precious to her that she always wore about her neck. One day she forgot the necklace and became anxious, believing it lost. She searched her home for it, but it was not there. She asked her neighbhours if they had seen it, but none of them had. Eventually, she asked a friend about it, who told her to check that she wasn't wearing it. When the woman felt about her neck, she discovered that she hadn't misplaced the necklace after all, but had been wearing it the whole time! Relief came over her, and she felt as if she had recovered a valuable jewel. The woman, of course, hadn't ever lost the necklace, but judge her by her feelings: in the end, she was happy as if she had gained something valuable.

In the same way, we humans tend to forget our true nature and seek after it as if we lost something. In reality, we have never lost anything but we are still made happy when we realize it.

THE FENCE

There once was a little boy who had a bad temper. His father gave him a bag of nails and told him that every time he lost his temper, he must hammer a nail into the fence. The first day the boy had driven 37 nails into the fence. Over the next few weeks as he learned to control his anger, the number of nails hammered daily, gradually dwindled down. He discovered it was easier to hold his temper than to drive those nails into the fence. Finally the day came when the boy didn't lose his temper at all. He told his father about it and the father suggested that the boy now pull out one nail for each day that he was able to hold his temper. The days passed and the young boy was finally able to tell his father that all the nails were gone. The father took his son by the hand and led him to the fence. He said "you have done well, my son, but look at the holes in the fence. The fence will never be the same. When you say things in anger, they leave a scar just like this one." You can put a knife in a man and draw it out. It won't matter how many times you say I'm sorry, the wound is still there. Make sure you control your temper the next time you are tempted to say something you will regret later.

The blunt Knife

Once upon a time, a very strong woodcutter asked for a job in a timber merchant and he got it. The pay was really good and so was the work condition. For those reasons, the woodcutter was determined to do his best. His boss gave him an axe and showed him the area where he supposed to work. The first day, the woodcutter brought 18 trees. Congratulations, the boss said. Go on that way!

Very motivated by the boss' words, the woodcutter tried harder the next day, but he could only bring 15 trees. The third day he tried even harder, but he could only bring 10 trees. Day after day he was bringing less and less trees. I must be losing my strength, the woodcutter thought. He went to the boss and apologized, saying that he could not understand what was going on. When was the last time you sharpened your axe? the boss asked. Sharpen? I had no time to sharpen my axe. I have been very busy trying to cut trees
So my good friend!!! I hope you have learnt to always sharpen your knife and never to work with a blunt knife!!!

THE IMAGE

Sometimes when I look at the mirror, I can hardly recognise myself. Then I ask " is this the face of a hero or should I look at someone else?"
Whenever we hear the clock tick, we always remember that there is something needed to be done, but yet we say " I will do it" (procastination).

We are always happy when celebrate our "don't want to mention years" birthday. But sorry to to say this: you think you are still young? You say " I am young in years, but hey! Have you ever wondered how many thousands of days you've spent on earth?Do you still say i'm young?
Gone at the days when the world take joy in celebrating men that have come of age. Why do you choose to answer 'the leaders of tomorrow ', when you have woken up from yesterday's slumber?!! Don't wait until then, you can start today. Its not a big thing, choose to live with AN achievement everyday of your life, that's the lifestyle of an achiever... Remember this:
Always live each day making your life if not you end up marring it, coz you can never be alone; for an idle man is a devil's workshop.
And never forget this story : that a man gave his only begotten son a name greater than every other names. And so you can become a son today for him to either give you a name that will make you great among your fellows, or he will make you great and the world will give you a name that glorifies him(GOD)!!!
